Central Slovakia<\/h3>\n

offers exceptional climbing opportunities on the popular Via ferrata Skalka (with the most difficult via ferrata route in Slovakia called F-\u00daHA – difficulty F) and Via ferrata Kom\u00edn with the longest rope bridge in Central Europe. Almost in the heart of Central Slovakia, you will discover a via ferrata area in the Drieky\u0148a locality (2 km from Slovensk\u00e1 \u013dup\u010da).<\/span><\/p>\n

This modern secured climbing area was opened in spring 2025 in the Javorie Mountains. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the town of Zvolen, just below the well-known Pust\u00fd hrad.<\/div>\n

Ka\u013eam\u00e1rka<\/h3>\n

It is an important climbing area <\/span>near Detva\u00a0<\/span><\/b>and at the same time one of the region’s best-known natural monuments. It is a popular place for rock climbers, mountaineers, hikers and everyone looking for adrenaline and beautiful nature.\u00a0Ka\u013eam\u00e1rka\u00a0has an andesite base and a great advantage is that it can be climbed from every side of the compass.\u00a0In addition to climbing, there is also an archaeological site nearby and a viewpoint offering a view over the Detva Basin.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jelenec<\/h3>\n

It is one of the newer climbing areas located near Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica. It ranks among the <\/span>most visited areas<\/span><\/b>\u00a0in the region, but it is intended mainly for knowledgeable and <\/span>more experienced<\/span><\/b>\u00a0climbers.\u00a0It offers various more difficult routes,\u00a0different wall inclinations,\u00a0and cracks and holes of all imaginable sizes.\u00a0This place is definitely worth visiting especially for those who love <\/span>adrenaline<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and are determined to conquer more challenging terrain.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Krpcovo, Harmanec<\/h3>\n

Krpcovo near Harmanec comprises 224 routes of various\u00a0grades\u00a0and 11\u00a0sectors.\u00a0Most routes are of <\/span>medium and higher difficulty<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0This climbing area is open to all climbers year-round.\u00a0There are plenty of <\/span>overhangs<\/span><\/b>\u00a0here, so even rain will not discourage rock enthusiasts.\u00a0Some routes are hidden in the forest, and it is even possible to find a line for a <\/span>first ascent.\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tajov<\/h3>\n

The climbing site in\u00a0<\/span>Tajov\u00a0<\/span><\/b>is a popular destination especially for climbers from Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica thanks to its <\/span>excellent accessibility.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0It is located in a picturesque limestone canyon that offers pleasant shade and a cooling climate even during the hottest summer days. This area offers varied sport climbing on limestone. Shorter and technical routes prevail here, making them ideal for a <\/span>quick afternoon training session after work.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0If you are looking for easy access and a peaceful environment in the immediate vicinity of the city, Tajov is the right choice for you.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kr\u00e1liky<\/h3>\n

The climbing area\u00a0<\/span>Kr\u00e1liky<\/span><\/b>\u00a0is one of the smaller ones. There is one <\/span>main wall\u00a0<\/span><\/b>and several towers around it. The walls can be climbed as early as February\u00a0if they get enough sunlight. The difficulty of the individual towers ranges from easy warm-up routes to the more demanding ones, with the hardest being <\/span>grade\u00a09<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0Here you will find unusually <\/span>romantic climbing<\/span><\/b>\u00a0on a little tower that you can climb from all sides, but also hard grade-nine routes in overhangs and on the wall.\u00a0Since everyone can find something to suit them, it is an ideal place for a short <\/span>escape from the city<\/span><\/b>, where you can enjoy relaxation, nature and the pure joy of climbing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prieboj \u2013 Ihr\u00e1\u010d<\/h3>\n

The andesite crag\u00a0<\/span>Prieboj in the Kremnica Mountains<\/span><\/b>\u00a0is an ideal choice for climbers looking for peace and a pleasant climate. Here you will find <\/span>24 newly secured routes<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and 3 difficulty variants\u00a0from 3+ to 8- UIAA. Most routes are 12 metres long, but on the highest crag you can also enjoy four impressive thirty-metre lines. Thanks to the nearby stream and the rocks’ orientation from south to west, it is very pleasant here even on hot summer days. Just 50 metres from the rocks there is also a spring, a fire pit and seating, which makes the area a great place for <\/span>a full day of relaxation<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sitno<\/h3>\n

The iconic landmark and cradle of European hiking,\u00a0<\/span>Sitno\u00a0<\/span><\/b>(1009 m above sea level), belongs to the “big three”\u00a0<\/span>best-known andesite areas in Slovakia<\/span><\/b>. This magical place, shrouded in many legends, offers climbing that you will not find anywhere else in the region. The Sitno towers, scattered around the summit, provide airy endurance lines in the embrace of fairytale-like nature.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unlike limestone, the local andesite is distinctive in its structure, but its main attraction is the <\/span>wall height reaching up to 50 metres<\/span><\/b>, which also allows for valuable\u00a0multi-pitch\u00a0climbing. Thanks to its exposure and altitude, Sitno is a sought-after location not only during the season, but also for winter climbing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jasenie – Lomnist\u00e1 climbing area<\/h3>\n

If you are looking for an escape from the heat and the crowds, the climbing area<\/span>\u00a0below Obr\u0161t\u00edn peak\u00a0<\/span><\/b>(1043 m) is a\u00a0bullseye. It lies deep in the <\/span>Lomnist\u00e1 Valley<\/span><\/b>\u00a0beyond the village of Jasenie, embraced by the quiet forests of the Low Tatras. The rocks lie at an altitude of 630 m above sea level, where the surrounding wild nature and nearby mountain stream will cool you down even in the hot summer.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The site is divided into five sectors with route lengths of up to 20 metres (on average 12\u201315 m). Thanks to the compactness of the rock, <\/span>5 quickdraws<\/span><\/b> are enough for most routes. In addition to rope climbing, you will also find marked\u00a0bouldering\u00a0lines here.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tesn\u00e1 skala<\/h3>\n

Tesn\u00e1 skala<\/span><\/b>\u00a0is an impressive limestone area hidden in the heart of the Mur\u00e1nska planina plateau, lying on the border of the Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica and Ko\u0161ice regions.\u00a0It offers climbers three\u00a0climbing\u00a0sectors:\u00a0<\/span>Lower Part<\/span><\/b>\u00a0(19 routes),\u00a0<\/span>Middle Part<\/span><\/b>\u00a0(96 routes) and\u00a0<\/span>Upper Part\u00a0<\/span><\/b>(24 routes).\u00a0If you are looking for quality climbing surrounded by wild nature, you definitely should not miss a visit to this location.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
