Perhaps the most popular resort in the region, measured by number of skiers and skiing opportunities, is Donovaly. Modern transport facilities, a combination of a 6-seater chairlift and an 8-seater cabin (TELEMIX Nová hoľa), the 4-seater Buly Expres Záhradište, 14 tows and 19 ski runs – this is PARK SNOW Donovaly, including the PATTY SKI Funpark with an animation programme for kids.

Skalka Arena in the Kremnica Mountains offers more than 5 km of well-groomed downhill slopes for more advanced skiers, making it one of the top ski resorts in Central Slovakia. You can even take a taxi – actually a comfortable ski bus – to Skalka.

SKI Králiky is an excellent ski resort for families with young children – four gentle ski runs set amid the beautiful natural scenery of the Kremnica Mountains and just 10 km from Banská Bystrica.

Šachtičky, the nearest resort to Banská Bystrica, is great for either recreational or professional skiing. Here, visitors can explore the slopes on seven runs of varying difficulty. There are four ski lifts, plus two tow lifts for the smallest skiers. The resort also offers winter fun for snowboarders. A ski bus running to a timetable will take you to this resort comfortably and safely.

KOŠÚTKA SKI CENTRE, in the immediate vicinity of the town of Hriňová, boasts stunning panoramic views of the Hriňová Meadows. 4 ski runs, 4 ski lifts and an endless rope for kids are among the resort’s essential facilities for downhill skiing enthusiasts. For adrenaline junkies, there is a SnowPark with jumps, rails and other obstacles.

On the outskirts of the picturesque village of Látky in the lower Podpoľanie district, there is a resort for skiers – KOČANDA. Families with kids and beginner skiers will enjoy this compact ski resort as it offers an enjoyable skiing experience on a 700 m long ski slope fitted with 2 lifts.

The complex of the Hotel ZERRENPACH Látky is happy to welcome downhill skiing enthusiasts to its family ski resort. 2 lifts 1.2 km long take visitors to perfectly groomed slopes of varying degrees of difficulty. Other resort facilities include a children’s rope tow lift and night skiing.

KOKAVA-LÍNIA Ski Centre is a small resort with 5 lifts and 1 children’s rope tow, which means it provides pleasant, easy skiing for beginners and advanced skiers alike. It is particularly well-suited for families with kids. The resort can be found 11 km from Kokava nad Rimavicou in the peaceful surroundings of the Stolica Mountains.

Jasná Nízke Tatry is the largest ski arena – with excellent conditions for winter sports – on the northern and southern side of Chopok (2024 m above sea level). With its 40 slopes covering 45,780 m, embracing all levels of difficulty, and an artificial snowmaking system, a snow park, and freeride zones, including night skiing, the resort offers endless possibilities for fun and active recreation for all ages.

SKI & BIKE in Mýto pod Ďumbierom is a ski resort offering immaculately groomed slopes for beginners and more experienced skiers running for a total length of 4,600 m, a chairlift and 5 ski lifts, providing ideal conditions for excellent skiing in the beautiful setting of Horehronie.

The perfect family-friendly ski resort, but also great for more experienced skiers, Ski Tále provides excellent skiing on easy-to-moderate slopes with a total length of 2,700 m. Six ski lifts take up to 4,110 people up the slope every hour. It also caters to those who prefer cross-country skiing, with 6 km of groomed cross-country skiing trails right in the SKI Tále complex itself.

SKI Telgárt, close to the village of Telgárt and directly below Kráľová hoľa, is an excellent resort for downhill skiing, freeride skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. The 6.5 km of groomed trails for beginners and advanced skiers and the three ungroomed freeride zones in the forest part of the resort can be used by visitors for as long as they want.

A smaller ski resort, SKI Drozdovo is located at the foot of Pohronský Inovec, about 10 km from Nová Baňa. This family-friendly resort offers skiing on three ski runs, with lifts, that cover a total length of 2.5 km. Standard services include artificial snowmaking, night skiing and a ski school.
