The section most sought after by paddlers has a few small water structures in store for you, all of which are easy to pass. Local trout, grayling, and huchen will keep you company, and if you stop for a moment and look carefully, you may be lucky enough to spot a river crayfish. In the spring months, the Hron is still a little wild. Heavy rains and melting snow make rafting possible from the village of Heľpa (river km 255). We recommend it mainly for experienced paddlers. Otherwise, be prepared for a crash course in cold-water hardening. The water is really cold, but it will definitely provide an unforgettable experience.
The second turning point awaits you near the village of Valaská in the Chvatimech area (river km 217). The confluence of the Čierny Hron is located here. This section can be rafted even at the lowest water level. Straighten up a little, a passage through the village of Podbrezová awaits you. In the Lopej area (river km 212), the water has its duties. It works for the local hydroelectric power plant, so it has to circulate constantly up and down. Its job ends in the village of Nemecká, in the Dubová area (river km 205). In the summer months, it may seem that you will end up on dry land instead of on the river. Never mind. Put the boats on your shoulders and walk a bit.
Enjoy the third turning point to the fullest. In the village of Nemecká, you will find the first campsites and boating equipment rentals. From Nemecká, the swift water will carry you all the way to the town of Sliač. Gorgeous natural scenery and all kinds of natural wonders await you, while the Low Tatras and Ľupča Castle will proudly tower among the clouds.

Nemecká – Mlynčok
1 day / 10 river km
This section is among the most popular with beginners. You will discover the most beautiful corners of the Hron.
Nemecká – Šalková
2 days / 20 river km
It starts in the village of Nemecká and continues to Šalková. You will enjoy the beautiful nature of the Upper Hron region. In the evening, you will moor the boats on the banks by the guesthouse, where we will prepare a pleasant evening program for you.
After breakfast, the trip continues to Sliač or Zvolen. A minibus will take you back to Nemecká.
Expedition rafting trips:
An activity suitable for experienced paddlers. You carry all important things (clothes, food, water) with you. A minibus will pick you up only at the destination of your trip. Until then, you camp and paddle in the lap of beautiful Mother Nature.
Expedition rafting trips are popular among young people (school trips, children’s or teenage camps), but also among colleagues from various professional fields (team-building).
