We are interested in places that are not only beautiful but also historically or culturally significant. These may include monuments associated with our national figures, engineering marvels, or natural wonders. Write about your discoveries and experiences and become a guide for others.

And that’s not all! The article that attracts the most readers will win its author an exceptional family getaway in a beautiful corner of the Banská Bystrica Region.

PARENTS, get your children involved – Their tips and writings will bring us even more joy. Encourage your children to write and share their own discoveries, because their perspective on the world can inspire others, too.

We are carrying out this project in collaboration with the Mikuláš Kováč Public Library in Banská Bystrica, and our goal is to work together to build a community that values our historical, cultural, and natural heritage. Remember that every tip you share helps us learn more about our region, inspires us to explore, and helps us build a connection to the environment in which we live.

Project Rules at a Glance

Write a short article about a place, a trip, or an experience in the Banská Bystrica Region.

In the subject line of the email, please write: Write, Read, Discover

The contest runs through September 30, 2026.

What should the article include?

The article should introduce a place, a travel tip, or a point of interest in the Banská Bystrica Region.

For example, you can write:

– Where have you been?
– What did you like about it?
– What did you see or experience there?
– What makes this place interesting?
– Why would you recommend it to others?

The text doesn’t have to be technical. What’s important is that it be sincere, easy to understand, and written in your own words.

Technical Information

– Please submit your text as a .doc or .docx file to
– The text must be no longer than 4,500 characters, including spaces
– You may attach photos in .jpg or .png format to your article
– Each photo should be no larger than 1 MB
– If children are involved, the article must be submitted by a parent, legal guardian, teacher, or authorized adult
– Prior to publication, you must submit informed consent for the use of the text and photos

The publication of articles is subject to approval by the editorial board. The editorial staff reserves the right to make minor linguistic and stylistic adjustments to the text to prepare the article for publication. The original guidelines already provided that articles are reviewed by the editorial board and that the text may undergo linguistic or stylistic editing.

How do I claim my prize?

The prize will be awarded to the author of the article that attracts the most readers by September 30, 2026.

Winning

A two-night stay for 4 people during the off-season at
, including half-board and admission to Aquathermal Dolná Strehová.
