Visit the castles of the Hron Castle Route
and take the Castle Passport with you
The Castle Passport is a cheerful illustrated guide to the sites of the Hron Castle Route intended for children and their parents who enjoy discovering castles. At each castle on the Hron Castle Route, there is an emblem whose tracing into the Castle Passport will bring the passport holder closer to obtaining a real treasure.
During the year, various events are held at selected sites of the Hron Castle Route – from guided tours to experiential hikes. Each site is publicly accessible. The newest attraction for discovering all the places that breathe medieval history is the Castle Passport, or rather the treasure that visitors can obtain thanks to it.
The Castle Passport is a cheerful colorful brochure containing information about 16 sites of the Hron Castle Route. It allows you to collect castle emblems in an entertaining way with your active participation.
Procedure:
1. visit any of the 16 sites of the Hron Castle Route
2. look for a wooden post with a metal plate bearing the silhouette of the site you visited
3. trace the silhouette of the castle onto the inserted transparent paper in the Castle Passport
4. repeat the procedure at each site
When you visit 5 castles, you will become a novice explorer, after 10 castles you will become an adventurer, and by visiting all 16 castles you will receive a treasure (a wooden chest full of ducats /sweet ones/ and we will also add a few useful little things that will come in handy during your trips to the castles of the Banská Bystrica Region).
Where can you get the Castle Passport?
You can obtain the Castle Passport for a voluntary contribution of €5 at selected places:
- Revište Castle every weekend and on holidays during the castle season from 29.3.2024 to 30.9.2024, or during guided tours on 6.7.2024, 27.7.2024, 10.8.2024, 7.9.2024.
- Šášov Castle (in the Memorial Room below the castle, or during guided tours on 22.6.2024, 13.7.2024, 8.2024, 17.8.2024, 31.8.2024)
- At Pustý hrad during the summer season in the presence of “archaeologists” or during guided tours, which will take place on 19.7.2024, 16.8.2024 and 30.8.2024.
- The Castle Passport is also available at the information center at Zvolen Castle.
Your participation will help preserve and restore these historical places.
