Royal Wedding at the Deserted Castle in Zvolen
Let it be known to all, King Béla IV is giving his daughter Constance in marriage! Guests will come from distant lands, all of good manners! Knights, ladies, men-at-arms, a merry jester, and valiant squires. There will be plenty of food and drink, and all will feast together. Cups will be raised overhead so that strife may avoid the newlyweds. And where does this celebration take place? There on the hill, at the famous Zvolen Castle! Today we know it as Pustý hrad near Zvolen, and it is there that the magnificent celebration takes place - the Royal Wedding.
Glgáč - a pottery festival at Revište Castle
In the area around Žarnovica, Glgáč is known as a special jug with a narrow neck used for drinking water. The rich regional pottery tradition meets the glorious history of Revište Castle to create, in this harmonious symbiosis, a unique summer festival of the Middle Ages and pottery with the fitting name Glgáč. Then potters from near and far come to the grand celebration at Revište to present their pottery craft and breathtaking ceramic works, along with other regional craftsmen from the Banská Bystrica Region.
